Grandmaster Libertino Parisi, Founder of Qi Kwan Do

Born in Sicily in 1954, Grandmaster Parisi is one of five children of a loving and caring family. At the young age of 14, his fighting spirit started to show when he became a lightweight amateur boxing champion. At 16, he moved to England to pursue his working life, eventually marrying his beloved wife Linda, and having three daughters, Michelle, Elouise and Giovanna. He now splits his time between the UK and the USA.

In 2003, then ‘Master’ Parisi was awarded the Combat Hall of Fame for his contributions to martial arts in the UK and around the world, and in 2013 he was granted the rank of Grandmaster by the US Grandmaster’s Council.

Grandmaster Parisi has trained in boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Choi Kwang Do, Qigong, Chi Kung, and is a Master of Chaikara-Riki-Do. He is a member of the Martial Arts Industry Association, and regularly trains with martial arts experts from around the world in order to update and improve the Qi Kwan Do system.

The Qi Kwan Do System

When settling down to life in England, Grandmaster Parisi explored various styles of martial arts. Many of the disciplines he found to be rigid, unrealistic, and poorly structured. He saw many students developing injuries from regular training, and in some cases lower self-confidence than when they began their journey.

The Qi Kwan Do system is designed to promote fitness, health, confidence, respect and discipline. We provide a structured syllabus, which is approachable to students of all abilities and ages, and we encourage family members to train together.

We provide a range of programmes to suit the needs of different students, including a path towards leadership skills and becoming a qualified instructor for those who wish to take on a larger role in the Qi Kwan Do family.
